Plug-In Bay Area 

In 2007, Friends of the Earth co-founded Plug-In Bay Area to:

  • Educate Bay Area policymakers and businesses about the benefits of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles;  
  • Create policy incentives to support the adoption of plug-in vehicle technology;
  • Establish plug-in demonstration projects;
  • Build public charging infrastructure and; 
  • Green corporate and government fleets by obtaining plug-in fleet orders.

Based on Plug-In Bay Area, twenty-two California municpalities have either placed fleet orders for plug-ins and/or signed supportive resolutions to bring plug-ins online.
