As Senior Strategic Advisor, Damon coordinates work on nuclear power and provides strategic advice on climate and energy issues. He lead the organization’s effort to close the damaged San Onofre nuclear reactors in Southern California in 2013 and helped negotiate the historic 2016 agreement which would close the last nuclear reactors in California, at Diablo Canyon, and replace them with clean, safe, GHG free renewable energy. Moglen has over thirty years of directing campaigns at the local, national and international level. He came to Friends of the Earth in 2010 from Greenpeace USA where he was the Global Warming Campaign Director. Moglen has worked on climate, energy and nuclear issues with Greenpeace International, Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Union of Concerned Scientists.
