Trump prepares tax gift for super-rich

Tax cuts for Trump cronies today, cuts to the EPA and low income communities tomorrow

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Donald Trump is expected to release his plan for tax reform tomorrow. Initial reports indicate the plan will cut the corporate tax rate by more than half, lowering it from 35% to 15%.

Lukas Ross, climate and energy campaigner with Friends of the Earth, issued the following statement:

Trump’s tax plan is a giveaway for corporations and billionaires designed to starve the government. Trump’s tax plan is a corporate handout for his big business cronies today and an excuse to slash environmental enforcement tomorrow. It’s a double win for corporate polluters, and a betrayal of anyone who enjoys breathing clean air or drinking clean water.

This reverse Robin Hood tax plan will take money from low income Americans, and give it to the rich. Congress must reject anything resembling this cruel and elitist proposal.
