Leader Pelosi will oppose Trump, defend democracy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today House Democrats elected Nancy Pelosi to be the leader of the Democratic Caucus for the 115^th Congress.  Friends of the Earth Climate and Energy Director Benjamin Schreiber issued the following response:

There has been no greater champion for justice, equality and public health than Leader Pelosi. With all of Donald Trump’s actions showing that he intends to use the presidency to enrich himself, his family and his friends we need Minority Leader Pelosi to lead a fierce opposition to protect our Democracy. Leader Pelosi is up to the task.

The American people do not support Trump’s radical agenda, including his climate denial. He is currently behind in the popular vote by over 2 million votes. The Democratic Caucus needs to stand together to protect our climate.
