Gorsuchs Stolen Supreme Court Seat Imperils Environment

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday, the U.S. Senate’s Committee on the Judiciary will hold confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Nominee Neil Gorsuch.

Friends of the Earth Senior Political Strategist Ben Schreiber issued the following statement:

The possible confirmation of Neil Gorsuch will have a devastating impact on our government’s ability to protect our environment and public health. If Majority Leader McConnell is able to steal a spot on the bench from President Obama, he will succeed in handing the Supreme Court over to Big Oil and other corporations.

Gorsuch is a conservative ideologue. His stances on the environment, campaign finance reform, and women’s reproductive rights, make him the wrong pick for the Supreme Court. Resisting his nomination is key to stopping Trump’s extreme agenda.
