Friends of the Earth Statement on Steve Bannon

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Steve Bannon will be removed today from his post as White House Chief Strategist. Bannon’s removal comes after Friends of the Earth delivered more than 100,000 signatures, along with many more from the progressive community, calling for him to go.

In response to Bannon’s removal as Trump’s Chief Strategist, Michelle Chan, Vice President of Friends of the Earth, issued the following statement:

White Supremacists like Steve Bannon and Donald Trump do not belong in the White House. Firing one person does not end Trump’s hateful and bigoted agenda and there is much more to be done to end injustice in our country. Congress must clearly denounce and remove the extremists like Sebastian Gorka and Stephen Miller who still have far too much influence in our government.
