House Passes Tax Disaster

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republicans today passed their tax giveaway aimed at cutting the taxes of corporations and lining the pockets of the wealthiest Americans.

Ben Schreiber, Senior Political Strategist at Friends of the Earth, issued the following response:

The House tax plan is a trillion dollar giveaway to billionaires and wealthy corporations that will increase inequality while cutting programs that protect our air and water. The House was willing to raise the taxes of millions of middle class Americans but they never even considered ending the billions in tax breaks that flow to Big Oil. Today’s tax vote is another example of how the Republican Party wants to take from the poor to give to the rich.
