Environmental, Progressive, Civil Rights organizations deliver 300,000 petitions demanding that Congress fire Scott Pruitt

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Friends of the Earth and 24 other environmental, progressive and civil rights organizations delivered 300,000 petitions to members of the House and Senate, demanding that Congress fire EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. Despite being marred in an egregious ethics scandal for weeks, Congress has yet to take any meaningful action to remove Pruitt.

The petition calls on Congress to hold Pruitt accountable for his ethical missteps and for his history of bigoted and discriminatory actions and remarks. The coalition, which includes Friends of the Earth, 350.org, Food & Water Action, Demand Progress and others, collected signatures from all 50 states. At 12 PM (EDT) today, thousands of activists will deliver the petitions in person to Congressional district offices around the country.

The coalition includes: Act.TV, Americans for Democratic Action, American Family Voices, Beyond Extreme Energy, Breast Cancer Action, California League of Conservation Voters, Climate Hawks Vote, Daily Kos, Demand Progress, Food & Water Action, Friends of the Earth, Green America, LeftAction, People’s Action, People Demanding Action, Progress America, Progressive Caucus Action Fund, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Progressive Democrats of America, Watchdog.net, 350.org, 198 Methods, Center for Biological Diversity, Public Citizen, and Pesticide Action Network.
