Pruitt Takes from Taxpayer Till
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt spent more than $58,000 to take four noncommercial and military flights across the country since taking office, according to reports. The flights come after news of the EPA spending $25,000 to install a soundproof phone booth in Pruitt’s office, and major expense increases for Pruitt’s unnecessary security detail. This week reports also surfaced that Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has taken 26 flights on taxpayer-funded corporate jets.
Ben Schreiber, Senior Political Strategist at Friends of the Earth, issued the following statement:
It’s not just Donald Trump, Tom Price and Steven Mnuchin who are using taxpayer dollars to fund their luxurious lifestyles. Scott Pruitt is enjoying the high life while he does his best to wreck the EPA from inside and rob the American people of clean air and clean water.
Americans expect the EPA to protect their air and water. Yet, Pruitt is starving the EPA with his budget cuts, while his excessive spending robs the agency.
Congress must put a stop to the Trump Administration’s corrupt use of taxpayer funds.
