Trump’s final budget enshrines climate denial, war and cruelty into conservative manifesto

WASHINGTON – The Trump Administration released its final budget this afternoon, calling once again for steep cuts to the agencies and programs that protect our climate, air, water and wildlife. In addition, the budget proposes attacks to basic elements of the social safety net, further eviscerates public health protections and calls for additional funding for the border wall.

In response, Friends of the Earth senior policy analyst Lukas Ross issued the following statement:

Trump’s final budget is an immense moral disgrace. The document enshrines climate denial, war and casual cruelty to our society’s most vulnerable.

While these proposals are likely to be dead on arrival in Congress, this document has all the markers of a dangerous ideology intent on attacking human dignity at its most basic level.
