Scott Pruitt rented townhouse co-owned by wife of energy lobbyist

WASHINGTON, DC – EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt previously rented a condo co-owned by the wife of fossil fuel lobbyist Steven Hart, according to a report today from ABC News.

Lukas Ross, Climate and Energy Campaigner at Friends of the Earth, issued the following statement in response:

Renting a townhouse from the spouse of a fossil fuel industry lobbyist is the ultimate example of corruption and illustrates exactly why Scott Pruitt must be fired. Not only is Pruitt’s EPA giving handouts to the fossil fuel industry and corporate polluters, Pruitt himself lived in one of their homes. This latest example of ethical violations makes it clear: it is past time for Scott Pruitt to go.
