Trump to Place Tariff on Solar Panels

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Donald Trump today moved to impose new tariffs on imported solar panels.

Bill Waren, senior trade analyst at Friends of the Earth issued the following response:

Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on imported solar panels is recklessly irresponsible and a thinly veiled attack on clean energy. The decision is the latest attempt by Trump to preference fossil fuels by slowing the transition to clean energy. The decision threatens tens of thousands of workers who install solar systems and will decimate one of the fastest growing segments of the U.S. economy.
