THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – On Thursday, October 19, as EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt visits a Texas Oil and Gas Association meeting, Friends of the Earth will greet him with a message–“Pruitt, #PayItBack” delivered via a plane with a banner and a digital truck circling the building. Friends of the Earth is demanding Pruitt repay taxpayers for the private flights—many to meetings with Big Oil—he took on their dime.

Last month, reports revealed that Scott Pruitt and several other members of the Trump Administration took private flights, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Since mid-February, Pruitt has taken four non-commercial flights, which cost taxpayers $58,000.

Thursday’s plane fly-over and digital truck carry the message of 28,000 Friends of the Earth members, who signed petitions demanding that Pruitt, DOI Secretary Zinke, and HHS Secretary Tom Price repay the taxpayer money they spent on private, chartered flights.
