Friends of the Earth cuts ties with FedEx

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friends of the Earth will cease doing business with FedEx in response to FedEx refusing to cut ties with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the company’s deep ties to the firearms industry. More than two dozen companies cut ties with the NRA since the shooting that left 17 dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

Erich Pica, President of Friends of the Earth, issued the following statement:

FedEx should cut all ties with the National Rifle Association, including the delivery of all guns and discounts to NRA members.

At a time of national crisis, Friends of the Earth stands with the students and family members of Parkland, Sandy Hook and other mass shooting victims in calling for responsible companies to disavow any relationship with the NRA and the culture of violence they have created that threatens our children every day.

In cutting business ties with FedEx, we also note that the company has a terrible record on labor issues.

Friends of the Earth has decided it will no longer do business with FedEx, and encourages other organizations and businesses to do the same.
