Separate reports: corruption and incompetence at EPA

Separate reports point to corruption and incompetence at EPA

Separate Inspector General and GAO reports show a lawless Administrator.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The EPA Office of the Inspector General will release an interim report this afternoon on “administratively determined” positions filled under the Safe Drinking Water Act, according to a report from Bloomberg. Separately, the Government Accountability Office released an analysis indicating that the installation of a $43,000 soundproof in Scott Pruitt’s office was illegal.

Lukas Ross, Climate and Energy Campaigner at Friends of the Earth, issued the following response:

Pruitt’s corrupt actions have been exposed yet again. Reports from two separate independent watchdogs show that Pruitt is both unethical and incompetent. Scott Pruitt’s attempt to throw his staff under the bus over this doesn’t pass the smell test.

Pruitt has wasted millions on his lavish lifestyle and we learned today that he clearly broke the law with his secret phone booth. Pruitt is corrupt and should be fired. If Trump won’t act, then Congress has an obligation to step up and remove Pruitt from office.
